Colletts named one of the ‘Top 5 UK agents’ by Expedia
We’re proud to announce we’ve been included in Expedia’s ‘Top 5 Independent UK agents for hotel spend’ list – but what does that mean for Colletts?
We spoke to sales and account manager Julie Kay, to gain a better understanding of the recognition and the reasons for it.
Julie, what’s so special about this acknowledgment by Expedia?
Firstly, it’s a great achievement for the company as a whole, in terms of our ongoing efforts working with Expedia.
When I speak to new customers about hotels, it’s funny how many of them are shocked that we can book via Expedia, free-of-charge.
I often have to explain that as part of our search for the best rates possible, we’ll cross check against our GDS, Expedia or our trade suppliers.
Typically, not only are Expedia offering and negotiating the best rates but we can secure these for our customers and keep delivering savings.
What’s the advantage of booking Expedia via Colletts?
One of the biggest benefits, certainly from a financial perspective, is that clients can have transparency across travel spend.
If they were to book direct themselves on personal or company credit cards, the admin to unpick that could have a detrimental effect.
How so?
Well, deciphering what’s been spent and where can take a considerable amount of time, which will understandably cost a company money as some back office systems don’t necessarily split spend type for travel which makes it impossible to see if there is potential to negotiate a corporate rate in some locations.
By booking flights, hotels, car hire and other corporate travel essential all together will give any financial director peace-of-mind over travel spend.
