Save thousands with Company Air Miles

Whether you’re new to corporate Air Miles schemes or simply unsure how best to use the ones you’ve collected, then read on……

The opportunity to save thousands of pounds from your travel budget is too important to miss, so how can you achieve this?

In recent weeks, we’ve managed to save some of our clients around £9000 over just four tickets, simply by applying our experience in this area.

Although company Air Miles can tot up quickly, many clients are unaware of how best to use them and how they differ from personal traveller Air Miles.

In fact, they come from a different availability allocation and can build up quickly if you have travellers using the same airlines frequently.

500% saving!

Recently, one client needing an economy class ticket for a one night visit to New York from London contacted us.

We knew the ticket cost would be high – especially factoring in that it was midweek travel, no Saturday night and during peak season (July).

The direct return flights selected by the client totalled £1779 inclusive of taxes.

Although we were able to offer lower priced indirect options, we decided the time could be better used exploring alternative savings options.

By selecting the right kind of company Air Miles ticket, we were able to offer a wider choice of flights in both directions.

And even though the client opted for the same flights originally selected, thanks to our help, the new cost was just £338.00 in airport taxes and 9,000 Air Miles.

That £1400 reduction in cost represents a saving of over 500 %.

Creative and cost-effective

Another client with a slightly more complex requirement posed more of a challenge that we were also ultimately able to address with Air Miles.

The intended journey involved business class travel from London to Hong Kong but returning from Shanghai to London, via Cyprus.

After various adjustments to the potential itinerary, we found the most cost-effective and convenient to get the client from Shanghai to Cyprus.

Flying back with Emirates via Dubai meant just one change, plus the timings were perfect.

However, for the flight out, availability was terrible – plus the full fare business class price meant a potential one-way direct cost of over £4000.

Some creative ticketing on our part secured a Shanghai to Cyprus flight for around £1900, so the route to Hong Kong was the only remaining challenge.

The best direct business flights looked like either Turkish Airlines or Lufthansa at £2400 one-way, which didn’t seem a terrific saving.

But, scanning available Air Miles seats turned up a British Airways first-class seat from London to Hong Kong direct, for just £434.00 plus 29,000 points.

That was a saving of £1680 or 70 percent.
