When severe weather hits, FGT keeps business trips moving
Challenge
A four-hour snow delay made the traveller miss an international connection and the next flight. The hotel booking at the destination was at risk of a no-show charge, and the airline did not give any helpful updates. The traveller was told to wait in line at the airport desk with other affected passengers.
How FGT responded
Instead of waiting in line at the airport, the traveller called FGT after hours. FGT arranged a hotel for the night, explained the delay to the destination hotel to keep the booking safe, and rebooked the traveller on a flight for the next day with the onward connection confirmed. FGT also asked for a refund for the missed first night at the hotel, which was approved, so no money was wasted.
Outcome
The traveller arrived at their destination a day later with accommodation arranged, onward travel confirmed, and no money lost on the hotel booking. The extra hotel cost was expected to be reimbursed by the airline, but FGT managed the whole disruption so the traveller didn’t have to worry.
Client Feedback
“I would just like to thank you all for the help you gave me getting to my destination this last weekend. The weather can’t be helped and these things happen but due to the amount of people with missed flights I believe I would have still been in Amsterdam without your assistance.”
